Built on Elysium
In shortThe Hill is the first social trading terminal on Elysium, Hyperliquid's Layer 2. It's our home chain from the first week of mainnet, and we pay the gas there.
What Elysium is
Elysium is a Layer 2 network built on Hyperliquid by the Kinetiq team. It settles on HyperEVM (Hyperliquid's smart-contract layer) and sits right next to HyperCore, the engine behind Hyperliquid's order books. HYPE is its gas token. Testnet went live on 22 September 2026, and mainnet is due on 9 November 2026.
Think of Hyperliquid as the fastest, deepest place to trade on-chain today, and Elysium as the neighbourhood being built around it for apps. The Hill is one of the first apps on that street.
Why we built here
- Speed. Blocks land fast and cheap, so the hill updates the moment a trade clears, and the gas we pay for you costs next to nothing.
- Liquidity next door. Hyperliquid's markets are a bridge away, and HyperCore integration is on Elysium's roadmap, which means deeper pools for the coins you trade.
- First mover. Memecoins will launch on Elysium from the first block. The Hill is where you'll see who's on top of them.
- Powered by Hyperliquid. The Hill runs on Hyperliquid's stack, not against it. HYPE pays the gas; Elysium's sequencer revenue buys back KNTQ, the way our fees buy back $HILL.
What it means for you
Nothing to learn. Elysium is one of the chains in your one balance, like Solana or Base. Pick a coin on it, press Buy, done. One balance, every chain.
The honest bit
Elysium is new. On launch day one sequencer orders transactions and a whitelisted set of validators checks state; permissionless fraud proofs and the HyperCore link come later, about a month after mainnet by Kinetiq's own docs. That's normal for a young L2, and it's why The Hill runs on four other chains too. Chains.
